The way I’ve come to see it is that if patriarchy were a pyramid in the desert, women wouldn’t even be on the bottom of that pyramid; instead they would be forced to be part of the scenery.

Maybe a dry bush, or a cactus, but always forcefully excluded from even actively being part of the pyramid where one can even gain power and often used as a resource by those in the pyramid, to the point where women are made almost completely irrelevant in society, by design with few exceptions.
