Day 4 & 5 - NaNoWriMo 2023
Also an update on Bitchy History!
Day 4 I accomplished almost nothing. Sue me. I wrote 452 words on the novel and took a 3 hour nap after not sleeping most of the night before.
Research wise:
The Rider-Waite Tarot deck was released in 1909.
I spent way too much time looking at old pictures of the interior of Pacific Electric Railway cars. Especially considering Avery spends all of half a chapter on one.
Is this novel nominally just a way to justify my years long fixation on the Pacific Electric Railway and my bitterness at its demise? …No, of course not, that would be ridiculous.
Day 5 was a “lost day” but it was a Sunday and I needed some time to relax. I watched two episodes of Lovecraft Country, watched The Mummy (1999) with my parents, and played a lot of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and did my best not to feel guilty for not writing anything at all all day…

BUT I’ll be back to that this week! I’m changing my release time/day to 6am EST on Thursdays (I did some research that seems to indicate that’s a better day for releases than Mondays), so the next episode will be out on November 9th. Thank you all for your patience!
