The episode next week will kick us forward about 20 years and we’ll be diving into the Star Trek: The Next Generation and how it represented one of the prevailing ideas about what the future might look like once the Cold War was over…between the USSR and the USA as well as The Federation and the Klingon Empire.
If you want some reading to prep for the lecture (not required, but if you are a nerd like me you’ll enjoy it) you might want to read Francis Fukuyama’s “The End of History?” (the essay, not the book).
